The countdown is on...

As of today, we have just 40 short days until anticipated opening day of the 2007/2008 winter season at Okemo. Are you ready? It could be earlier...

  1. What is the earliest opening day in Okemo history? This is our first year as season pass holders and have a Kettle Brook condo for the season and are keeping our fingers crossed regarding the weather.

  2. Probably sometime earlie October as Kill***tons earliest was Oct. 1 a few times in the 90's. FYI, the season's are only getting shorter...sadly.

  5. Hi,

On your what's new section there is this comment..

"In addition to allowing a few of Okemo’s more difficult trails to take on more natural characteristics by grooming less often"

This sounds interesting, can you give an idea as to what trails specifically this may include?

  6. Wow, Oct. 31...That is why I buy the Kill***ton season pass. I use asterisks so not to offend Okemo'ers.

  7. So on the "au natural" comment above, we will taking that approach on trails like Big Bang and potentially Searle's Way, among others. I get the feeling we will be making decisions as we go based on conditions - but definitely look for more of this than in year's past.

I've also heard Tomahawk tossed around as a possible location for the swales and undulations... or a "family cross" though that is not confirmed.

I'll keep digging around Mtn Ops and post more when I know.
