  1. One of my best memories was riding fresh pow with one of the mountain ambassadors, he (I forgot his name) gave me a history lesson on Okemo mountain and took me down some trails I had never been on (and I thought I was an Okemo expert). It was an incredible experience to learn about the mountain I love with someone who is an ambassador just for the fun of it....great program!

  2. It was my first time ever skiing at Okemo and I was at the top of the Bunny hill area, where Winterplace Condos are, and I was so scared to go down Open Slope, which goes by the Sugar House Lodge, and my Dad ended up having to ask a ski patroler with a snowmobile take me down so I could go to my lesson. I was only 6.

  3. Oh yeah the same trip, but a day later, I was brought up to the summit for my first time ever, and as soon as I got to the top and saw the view, I was petrified to ski down, yet again, but instead of going down on a snowmobile, I skied down with a family friend skiing backwards and talking me down the mountain, and he had hurt his ankle a bit skiing that day! We went down Easy Rider, and I still screamed a good part of the way down and when we got to the bottom, I announced that I thought the trail should be renamed Hard Rider. Now I hardly ski the trail because I consider it too easy.

  4. My favorite Okemo memory? Definitely my first real ski outing. Random vacation day + great conditions + Okemo's Learn to Ski program = the perfect chance to make good on that life's to-do list item. Over one afternoon, I went from being petrified of any snow covered incline to hitting the lift and mastering the Lower Mountain. (Well, "mastering" is a bit of an exaggeration, but I did ditch the wedge and learn to stop on cue without face-planting!) My instructor was great (hey, Bill!) and the other folks in my group were so fun to learn with. I was stoked to say the least and definitely caught the ski bug. Later ski outings have had a tough time stacking up to that big first day!

  5. My fondest memory of skiing at okemo was when my mom, who would be in her eighties now, took me and my two younger sisters up there for the weekend, it was such a luxury for us being from a family of nine to spend the weekend skiing. She gave us the passion for skiing for which i am passing on to my children, that particular weekend she twisted her ankle pretty badly, but she kept a stiff upper lip and lest us enjoy the time we had together, thanks mom, miss you

  6. The first time I ever skied Okemo, I was fifteen years old. It was probably the worst day of the whole season in terms of weather, but amazingly the snow was unforgettable. We arrived bright and early only to see that it was pooring rain and very overcast. I remember riding up the lift and not being able to see more than two feet in front of me. The next trip I took to Okemo it was as if I had never been there because I could not see it the first time. Okemo Rocks!!

  7. The best memories I have of Okemo are the annual trips that my brothers and cousins take each year. Okemo is such a great mountain to meet up with old friends and make new ones. My favorite part is when we take a mid morning break at the waffle house. Those waffles are so good.

  8. On my second trip to Okemo and by far the most memorable one I was exploring the South side in the afternoon and came across Stump Jumper. It sounded like it would be fun and trust me it was exhilirating. I was a young, stupid child and went flying down a trail I had never been on before. About half way down, the ground went out from underneath me. Turns out that at the speed I was going when I came upon a lip caused me to be airborne. I will never forget that day. It marked a turning point in my ski career. I learned to have fun but always look before I leap.
